DNR police caution boaters to be cautious

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Maryland Natural Resources Police are urging boaters and anglers to be cautious on Maryland waterways this holiday weekend.

They say many state waterways remain unpredictable with some high water levels, missing navigational markers and debris posing unexpected hazards.

Officials say there are two major logjams on the Monocacy River in Frederick County. The obstructions are at the Gas House Pike Bridge and a CSX railroad bridge.

People who use kayaks and canoes are urged to walk around the obstructions.
