The alleged thief caught on video taking a piece of American flag art from a Bethesda front porch was actually playing a prank.
The incident happened on Oldchester Road early last Friday morning.
Diana Russell, the neighbor who posted the surveillance video earlier this week, said the prankster and his parents have apologized to the homeowner, returned the artwork and offered to pay for any damage to the art.
