Police Identify Suspect Arrested In Downtown Chase Thursday

Michael Keith MuschetteMontgomery County Police say a D.C. man was arrested in downtown Bethesda after he and an unidentified suspect fled from a Chevy Chase home after being caught by a housekeeper.

Police said they responded to a home in the 4200 block of East-West Highway at about 11:39 a.m. on Thursday. A housekeeper had noticed two men opening a rear screen door. The suspects fled down the Capital Crescent Trail and police placed a lookout for the two.

A few minutes later, other officers spotted the two coming off the Trail on Oakridge Avenue. The two led officers on a foot chase, during which the suspects split up.

A few minutes later, an off-duty and on-duty officer saw Michael Keith Muschette, 20, of the 600 block of Morton Street in D.C., near Wisconsin Avenue and Hampden Lane. They arrested the suspect in front of the Regal Cinemas at Elm Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

Muschette was charged with first degree burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.
