WASHINGTON – A young girl was seriously injured in a sledding accident Tuesday.
Montgomery County fire officials say the girl was injured sledding on a hill behind Takoma Park Middle School.
Fire and rescue crews had to use several hundred feet of rope to rescue the girl from the bottom of the hill.
She is expected to survive her injuries.
