Police say a pair of suspects robbed a victim of a scooter while the victim was crossing Friendship Boulevard on Thursday morning in Chevy Chase.

Police were called to the incident at about 9:10 a.m., according to Officer Janelle Smith, a Montgomery County Police spokesperson.

The victim was crossing the street near The Willoughby condos at 5500 Friendship Blvd. when a car, containing two suspects, drove up to the victim. It’s unclear if both suspects got out of the car, but at least one did and confronted the victim before stealing the victim’s scooter.

Smith had no other information about the suspects or victim.

According to scanner traffic, police were looking for a silver vehicle. Police also alerted D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department.

The robbery happened just two blocks away from the D.C./Maryland border.
