More than 700 people gathered Sunday at the Equinox gym on Elm Street for a team cycling event to raise money for cancer research.

Equinox (4905 Elm St.) helped create the Cycle for Survival event, which has raised $45.5 million for 85 clinical trials and research studies at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This year’s events throughout the country have raised about $14 million.

Each team signed up for a four-hour cycling session that can be divided up among team members. Each team gets fundraising pledges for its ride and 100 percent of each donation goes to the Cancer Center.

The event on Sunday drew more than 700 participants on 200 bikes.
