Weekly Crime Report: Oct. 28 to Nov. 5

Someone broke into the National Institutes of Health campus the morning of Nov. 1, according to police.

A commercial burglary occurred at NIH, 6011 Executive Boulevard in North Bethesda on Friday, 11/1 at approximately 8:40 a.m. Forced entry; nothing taken.

There were several burglaries from pharmacies around town, as we reported yesterday. The rest of the most recent Bethesda area crime summary is as follows:

A commercial burglary occurred at Brookville Pharmacy, 7025 Brookville Road in Chevy Chase sometime overnight between Saturday, 11/2 and Sunday, 11/3. Forced entry; property taken.

A commercial robbery occurred at CVS, 6917 Arlington Road in Bethesda on Saturday, 11/2 at approximately 5:45 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon then fled.

Suspect: B/M

An aggravated assault occurred in the 7600 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda on Friday, 11/1 at approximately 12:15 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim after a dispute, then fled.

Suspect: W/M, young, 5’10”, short dark hair, wearing a long black robe
Suspect: W/M, young, tall/skinny, blond hair, knife

Two thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Sunday, 11/3 and Monday, 11/4. Both vehicles were left unlocked. Nothing taken. Streets affected included: Sleaford Road and Chestnut Street in Bethesda.

A theft occurred in the 4700 block of Willard Avenue in Chevy Chase on Friday, 11/1 at approximately noon. The suspect ran by and snatched property from the victim’s hand, then fled.

Suspect: B/M, 20-25, 5’4”-5’5”, has a lazy eye

Three thefts of property from outside residences were reported to have occurred between Tuesday, 10/29 and Thursday, 10/31. The incidents occurred on Marlyn Drive, Cumberland Avenue and Christy Drive in Chevy Chase.

A theft of property from outside a residence in the 8200 block of Rayburn Road in Bethesda occurred between Thursday, 10/31 and Friday, 11/1.

A commercial burglary occurred at First Clinic, 9800 Falls Road in Potomac sometime between Sunday, 11/3 and Monday, 11/4. Forced entry; property taken.
