Black Friday offers great concerts in area

WASHINGTON – Black Friday and holiday shopping could be on many to-do lists, but others may look to start celebrating the season with some holiday-themed concerts.

This weekend offers some big-name contributions to the festivities.

Tonight and Saturday at Gypsy Sally’s, husband-and-wife country team Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis are scheduled to perform a holiday-themed set.

Also scheduled for tonight at the Warner Theatre, the Brian Setzer Orchestra is set to perform songs from Setzer’s several Christmas-themed rockabilly-swing albums.

Singer Michael McDonald is scheduled to bring his holiday-music tour to the Music Center at Strathmore this Saturday.

McDonald’s latest holiday album, “This Christmas” was released in 2009.
