Firefighters rushed to the scene of a two-alarm house fire on Tuesday evening in Chevy Chase.
MCFRS personnel reported a fire in the walls of the home, in the 3900 block of Woodbine Street in the Town of Chevy Chase, at about 5:50 p.m. The fire is out, according to scanner traffic.
The inhabitants of the home did evacuate by the time firefighters arrived on the scene. There were three dogs in the backyard.
The fire might have spread from the front porch area of the home to its upper levels. Firefighters were checking all levels of the home for smoke.
Many of the roads, including Woodbine Street at Connecticut Avenue, are blocked off.
