A group of local Rotary Clubs and a poverty nonprofit are joining together to raise donations of eight items important to needy area families.
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Metro Bethesda and North Bethesda Rotary Clubs and Silver Spring-based A Wider Circle have started the “Great 8″ drive.
The Great 8 items are pasta, beans, paper towels and cleaning supplies, tissues and toilet paper, low sodium and low sugar canned fruit and vegetables, laundry detergent, cereal and oatmeal and diapers.
Anyone who wants to donate any of the eight can drop off items at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center (4805 Edgemoor Lane) before Sept. 27.
