A journalist close to National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden says Snowden has documents on how the NSA is structured and operates.
Snowden, who says he has details of secret U.S. surveillance programs, has multiple offers of asylum and is thought to be stuck in the transit area of Moscow’s main airport. The U.S. is seeking Snowden’s return so he can face espionage charges.
Michael Chertoff, former secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and chairman of security firm Chertoff Group, says there is no way to prove Snowden’s claims. He says Snowden is acting not like a whistleblower, but instead is “acting like an extortionist.”
Edward Snowden is acting like an "extortionist," not a whistleblower.
