Rockville teen fatally shot by Army Staff Sgt. in murder-suicide

WASHINGTON – Montgomery County Police say Michelle Miller was shot by 31-year-old Army Staff Sergeant Adam Anthony Arndt, before he killed himself.

Police say Arndt and Miller knew each other because of Miller’s plans to enlist in the Army Reserves following her graduation from high school.

WASHINGTON – The 17-year-old girl found dead in a Germantown apartment Monday has been identified as Rockville High School 12th grader Michelle Miller.

In a letter sent home to parents, school officials say Miller was an athlete on the varsity lacrosse team and an honors/AP student.

The letter read:

It is with sadness that I inform you of the death of Michelle Miller, one of our 12thgrade students. We do not have information concerning the circumstances of Michelle’s passing, as details have not been released to us by the police or family.

The school will be bringing in a support team of psychologists and counselors Tuesday to provide counseling to students.

Police are also saying the man who was found dead with Miller was in the Army.

WASHINGTON – A teenager and a man were found dead in a Germantown apartment Monday.

Montgomery County police say the investigation began with a missing person’s call for the 17-year old girl early Monday morning.

Police found the teen inside the 31-year-old man’s apartment in the 12900 block of Pinnacle Drive in Germantown. Both were found dead.

Police won’t elaborate on the nature of their relationship. They did say the two did know each other.

Police also stress they are not looking for any suspects at this time.
