WASHINGTON – The family of a woman badly hurt crossing Rockville Pike Friday night is asking for help in finding the hit-and-run driver who left her unconscious on the busy, rainy roadway.
Michelle Eyre De Sam, 35, of Bethesda, remains in intensive care with numerous broken bones. She faces months of rehabilitation, her family says.
Montgomery County Police believe the woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit in the northbound lanes of Rockville Pike at Cedar Lane around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
“There had to have been people there who saw it,” says Michelle’s brother, Matthew Todd. “We really, really need their help.”
Montgomery County police are offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or an indictment in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 301-279-8000. Anonymous tips can be left at the Crime Solvers toll free number 1-866-411-8477.
