WASHINGTON – It’s a story of Twitter and romance on Capitol Hill — and no, it’s not a seedy tale this time.

Brett Wanamaker told U.S. Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., that Warner’s press secretary, Beth Adelson, was prone to check Warner’s Twitter feed more than her own.

Warner then allowed Brett to use the senator’s feed to send this Tweet: “Beth Ellen Adelson, will you marry me?

Her response: “what is happening.”

It quickly became clear: Pictures show Brett on Capitol Hill with flowers, a ring and a very surprised Beth.
