A power outage is currently affecting parts of north Arlington.
Nearly 1,600 Dominion customers were without power as of 10:30 a.m. As of 11:00 a.m., that number was down to just over 800.
Initial reports suggest that the outage originated due to a tree that fell across electrical lines, causing transformers to blow on Lorcom Lane near N. Jackson Street. Lorcom Lane was closed by police this morning due to the incident.
Traffic lights were reported dark on Lee Highway near I-66 as a result of the outage. Dominion’s media relations staff could not be reached to confirm the cause of the outage or an estimated restoration time.
