Montgomery County Police officers arrested 76 people for driving under the influence or while impaired by alcohol or drugs during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
The arrests were made from 6 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Monday, part of the county’s increased effort to catch drunk drivers celebrating the holiday.
Police put extra patrols in areas with bars to target impaired drivers and established sobriety checkpoints throughout the county.
Gov. Larry Hogan and other Maryland officials received family members of former Gov. Marvin Mandel at the Maryland State House.
