Police investigate fatal Silver Spring shooting

WASHINGTON – A 21-year-old Silver Spring man was shot and killed in his apartment Friday afternoon after police say his attackers forced their way into the home.

Montgomery County Police say Jesse Patrick Campos, of the 11400 block of July Drive, died inside his White Oak area apartment about 3:45 p.m. Friday.

Two male suspects accosted Campos’ roommate outside the apartment and forced the roommate to open the door. Once inside, the two assailants shot Campos and fled the scene, police say.

The male roommate and and a woman, who was in the apartment at the time of the shooting, were not injured, police say.

Police describe the first suspect as a dark-complected black male, who is 5-feet-10 to six feet tall, and wore his hair in dreadlocks. The second suspect is described as a medium-complected black male, who is approximately 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-8 tall. Both wore dark clothing.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the shooting contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
