WASHINGTON – A busy week of live play-by-play on Federal News Radio will see eight games in six nights. The weekend is highlighted by football rivalries as Navy takes on Army for the 113th time, and the Ravens visit the Redskins for the Battle of the Beltway.

  • TUESDAY, DEC. 4, 7:00 p.m. WIZARDS vs. MIAMI (WFED 1500AM):

The Wizards (1-13) seek their second straight win at the Verizon Center as they host LeBron James and the defending NBA champions Miami Heat (12-3). Miami has won a season-high six straight overall and King James arrives in D.C. just one day after being named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year for 2012.

Pregame coverage for the Wizards-Heat matchup begins at 6:45 p.m. with play-by-play announcer Dave Johnson and color analyst Glenn Consor.

  • TUESDAY, DEC. 4, 8:00 p.m. GEORGE WASHINGTON @ BRADLEY (1050AM & www.wfed.com):

The Colonials (4-3) seek their first three-game winning streak in more than a year as they visit the Bradley Braves (5-2) in Peoria, Ill. GW will look to build off Sunday’s 67-55 win over Manhattan at the 18th BB&T Classic and last Wednesday’s one point win at James Madison.

Senior Isaiah Armwood looks to keep his strong play alive after a career-high 23 points against Manhattan. Armwood leads GW in scoring (13.1 PPG) and rebounding (8.6 RPG).

Bradley beat GW last December, 67-66 at the Charles E. Smith Center. Pregame coverage for Tuesday’s matchup begins at 7:45 p.m. with play-by-play announcer Byron Kerr. The game will also be available online at www.wfed.com.

  • THURSDAY, DEC. 6, 7:00 p.m. AMERICAN @ UMBC (1500AM & www.wfed.com):

The AU Eagles (3-5) look to win their third straight game against the UMBC Retrievers (2-6) in as many years when they visit RAC Arena Thursday night.

AU will look to rebound after falling 55-50 against the Howard Bison, Dec. 4. Pregame coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. with play-by-play voice Dan Laing and color analyst Jeremy Huber. The game will also be streamed online at www.wfed.com.

  • FRIDAY, DEC. 7, 7:30 p.m. WIZARDS @ ATLANTA (WFED 1500AM):

The Wizards return to the site of one of their strangest defeats of the season when they visit the Hawks (9-5, through Monday) Friday night in Georgia.

The Wizards fell 101-100 in overtime Nov. 21 when a potential game-winning shot from Washington’s Martell Webster was ruled to have left his fingers after the buzzer.

Washington has struggled against Atlanta in recent years losing 16 of their last 17 meetings including nine straight at Phillips Arena. The Wizards last won in Georgia on Jan. 11, 2008.

Pregame coverage begins at 7:15 p.m. with Dave Johnson and Glenn Consor.

  • SATURDAY, DEC. 8, 2:30 p.m. GEORGE WASHINGTON vs. KANSAS STATE (1050AM):

The Colonials welcome the Kansas State Wildcats (6-1) of the Big 12 Conference to the Charles E. Smith Center Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats’ only loss this season came to fourth-ranked Michigan in the final of the preseason NIT.

Pregame coverage begins at 2:15 p.m. with play-by-play announcer Byron Kerr. The game will also be streamed online at www.wfed.com.

  • SATURDAY, DEC. 8, 3:00 p.m. NAVY vs. ARMY (WFED 1500AM & www.wfed.com):

It’s called “America’s Game” and one of college football’s greatest and longest rivalries will be played out on WFED next Saturday as the Navy Midshipmen (7-4) and Army Black Knights (2-9) meet for the 113th time.

Navy has won the last ten meetings between the two service academies and the Mids lead the all-time series 56-49-7. The winner of this year’s game will also receive the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, awarded annually to the winner of the football competition among Navy, Army and Air Force.

Extended pregame coverage begins with the Navy Coaches Show at 1:00 p.m.

  • SATURDAY, DEC. 8, 7:00 p.m. WIZARDS vs. GOLDEN STATE (WFED 1500AM):

The Wizards will face a Western Conference opponent at the Verizon Center for just the fourth time this season as they welcome the Warriors (10-7, through Monday) to town Saturday night.

Washington earned its first win of the season during its last meeting against a Western opponent, beating Portland 84-82, Nov. 28.

Extended pregame coverage begins at 6:00 p.m. with All Access, a Monumental Sports and Entertainment Production.

  • SUNDAY, DEC. 9, 1:00 p.m. RAVENS @ REDSKINS (WFED 1500AM):

The Battle of the Beltway hits the gridiron this weekend as the Baltimore Ravens (9-3) visit the Washington Redskins (6-6) for the first time since Oct. 10, 2004.

The Redskins have won a season-high three straight to pull within one game of the NFC East-leading New York Giants. Meanwhile, the Ravens will look to bounce back after falling to their rival Steelers last week at BB&T Stadium.

Pregame coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. with play-by-play announcer Gerry Sandusky, color analyst Qadry Ismail and sideline reporter Stan White.
