Capitol Hill beating suspects may be linked to larger crime group

WASHINGTON – Three suspects accused of brutally beating a Capitol Hill man may be part of a bigger crime group.

Tommy Branch, 21, of Fort Washington, Michael Moore, 18, of Landover, and Sunny Kuti, 17, of southeast D.C., are charged in the Aug. 18 attack on Thomas Maslin, who was robbed and beaten near Eastern Market.

The Washington Post reports police are looking for other suspects in the case who may be involved with a number of unsolved crimes.

At a court hearing Friday, authorities revealed that Maslin, who has suffered a traumatic brain injury from the incident, was struck with a baseball bat and BB gun.
