The Situation

The U.S. national security scene in 2009 was dominated by a number of global events. Among them was the flare-up of violence in Israel fueled by rocket attacks, which Hamas has routinely undertaken in southern Israel. WTOP\'s National Security Correspondent J.J. Green visited Israel during that time and took these photographs in various parts of the country. In 2012, as was the case in 2008, more and better rockets are being fired into Israel by Hamas.
