Thousands turn up for Spartan obstacle race in Virginia

WASHINGTON – Thousands of people turned up in northern Virginia on Saturday to take part in special kind of foot race – a Spartan Race. Instead of just running the roughly nine miles of the course, participants ran, threw spears, climbed walls and much more. It was all part of the obstacle race event that runs through Sunday.
