Obama goes online for unprecedented Q&A event

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will be online Wednesday for an “Ask Me Anything” question and answer session, known as an AMA.

The president will be on the site reddit.com at 4:30 p.m. for the unprecedented half hour event.

On the Reddit page, the Obama campaign wrote, “Hey everybody – this is barack. Just finished a great rally in Charlottesville, and am looking forward to your questions.

“At the top, I do want to say that our thoughts and prayers are with folks who are dealing with Hurricane Isaac in the Gulf, and to let them know that we are going to be coordinating with state and local officials to make sure that we give families everything they need to recover.”

Reddit is a social website where users can upload content, either links or text, as “self” posts. Other users can then vote the submission up or down, which determines how the post is ranked on the homepage.
