WASHINGTON – It’s back-to-school time in much of the D.C. area, with all schools due to be back after Labor Day.

As kids, and parents, get used to their new schedules, sleep patterns can be disrupted.

Tuesday at 1 p.m., Dr. Thomas LoRusso of the Northern Virginia Sleep Diagnostic Center will take your questions during a live chat.

He will be talking about kids, sleep and school start times, as well as the dangers of drowsy teens and what parents can do to help their kids get enough sleep.

LoRusso completed a three-year Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep fellowship at the University of California, at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

His area of expertise includes diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, having trained under Dr. Philip Westbrook, past president of the American Sleep Disorders Association.

The Northern Virginia Sleep Diagnostic Center provides state-of-the-art facilities; staffed by board certified physicians and other highly trained medical professionals who specialize in helping people with persistent sleep problems.
