Police seek help in purse-snatching

WASHINGTON – The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in a Landover purse-snatching incident.

At around 6:00 p.m. on July 25, officers responded to call regarding car theft on the 5300 block of Sheriff Road.

When police arrived a woman reported she had was reentering her vehicle after fueling when the suspects pulled alongside her in a black Mercedes SUV.

A passenger in the Mercedes reached inside the woman’s car and stole her purse then fled the scene in the Mercedes.

Police say they are investigating similar incidents have occurred in the area at the following locations:

  • Sunoco, Sheriff Road/Addison Road, Landover Date/Time of occurrence: July 26th at 9:46 a.m.
  • Sunoco, 6300 block of Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, Date/Time of occurrence: July 26th at 9:48 a.m.
  • WAWA Food, 1400 block of Hampton Park Boulevard, Capitol Heights , Date/Time of occurrence: July 26th at 10:33 a.m.
  • Shell Gas Station, 5600 block of St. Barnabas Road, Oxon Hill, Date/Time of occurrence: July 26th at 12:36 p.m.
