Prisoner serving time for manslaughter walks away in Maryland

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) – Authorities in Maryland are looking for a 27-year-old prisoner serving time for manslaughter and handgun violations who walked away from a road crew work assignment in Prince George’s County.

The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services says Conrad Thames walked away from the job near Route 197 and Muirkirk Road near Laurel on Monday. Thames was serving a 10-year sentence and was last seen wearing a fluorescent road crew cover over a white T-shirt and jeans.

Anyone who sees Thames is asked to call 911.
