Possible meth lab found in Howard County Holiday Inn

WASHINGTON – Police in Howard County, Md. are investigating what appears to be a meth lab in an Elkridge hotel room.

At 10:40 p.m. Police received an anonymous phone call reporting a meth lab at the Holiday Inn Express on the 6000 block of Marshalee Drive.

Officers detected a strong odor near a room on the fourth floor. When they knocked they were let in my three men. Chemicals were found in the room and the three were arrested as well as a fourth man who arrived later. The men apparently checked in to the hotel on Saturday.

Police are working to identify the four men.

The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services evacuated the entire fourth floor and the rooms directly above and below the suspects’ room. Guests were made to wait in the hotel lobby.

Vice and narcotics detectives responded to the scene and are expected to issue a search and seizure warrant. The DEA has also been contacted.
