WASHINGTON – Discovery Channel’s Shark Week will return to all its glory this year as Chompie, the giant inflatable shark, returns to his perch atop the Discovery building in Silver Spring, Md.

The 446-foot long shark will be lifted into place by cranes and strapped to the sides and roof of the building.

His return likely has something to do with Shark Week’s 25th anniversary on the network. The week-long programming devoted to sharks starts August 12.
