Well, Ron Burgundy fans, your wish has been granted. With his jazz flute in tow, Burgundy — or Will Ferrell — announced Wednesday night on Conan O’Brien’s talk show that a sequel to the 2004 comedy hit “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” is in the works.
“I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas — to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the U.K., including England — that as of 0-900 Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to ‘Anchorman,'” Burgundy said, before launching into a flute performance with Conan O’Brien’s band.
Entertainment Weekly reports that co-stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd also are on board for the project, as is director Adam McKay.
As to whether the sequel will be a success, studies show that 60 percent of the time, it works every time.
Check out the clip of the announcement below, which also includes some cosmetic advice given by Burgundy to the late-night host.
