WASHINGTON – The Inn at Little Washington in Washington, Va., earned a Five Diamond rating from AAA for the 24th consecutive year.
AAA added nine hotels and seven restaurants to its Five Diamond list this year. During the past year, eight Five Diamond restaurants closed their doors, at least temporarily.
Among the 16 new additions for 2012 are first-ever Five Diamond establishments for Rhode Island and Antigua. In the restaurant category, New York tops the list for growth with three new Five Diamond establishments. California is the only state to grow in both categories, with two additional lodgings and one restaurant.
On the Five Diamond Restaurant list again in 2012 is CityZen in Washington. The Four Seasons Hotel, Ritz-Carlton Georgetown and Ritz Carlton Washington are on the Five Diamond Lodgings list for 2012.
