Police seek suspect in Friendship Heights thefts

WASHINGTON– The Montgomery County Police Department is asking for help in identifying a suspect in two thefts — both of which took place at the Bloomingdale’s Friendship Heights store.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, police say, with graying brown hair and a white mustache.

Police report that the second theft occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 10. A Bloomingdale’s loss prevention officer told police the suspect took 12 pairs of sunglasses and fled the store.

The loss prevention officer told the police that the same suspect had committed a similar offense on Aug. 5. This incident was not reported, police say.
