Police seek suspects in Shady Grove Metro station robbery (Video)

WASHINGTON — Montgomery County police are searching for three suspects involved in a robbery that happened in an elevator at the Shady Grove Metro station last month.

On Monday, police released surveillance video of the suspects who robbed a teen at gunpoint on May 8.

A 17-year-old victim told police that he was robbed by three black men while riding an elevator at the Shady Grove Metro station. The video shows the victim and three suspects getting on the elevator at about 5:25 p.m. and one of the suspects getting a handgun from the backpack of another suspect and pointing it at the victim.

The video shows the suspect with the backpack taking property from the victim. Then the three suspects leave the elevator while the victim stayed on it.

The suspect with the handgun is described as a black man, about 17 to 20 years old, six feet tall and about 170 pounds. This suspect was wearing a red hat and a purple T-shirt with the words “I Love DC” across the front.

The second suspect is described as a black man, about 17 to 20 years old and five feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build. The suspect wore a gray shirt and a teal backpack that concealed the handgun used in the robbery.

The third suspect is described as a black man, about 17 to 20 years old and six feet, five inches tall with a thin build. The suspect wore a black T-shirt and sunglasses during the robbery.
