Police seek man using cloned credit card in Montgomery Co.

WASHINGTON — Montgomery County detectives are searching for a suspect who cloned a credit card and has used it in Bethesda, Maryland.

Last month, a woman was notified of fraudulent activity on her credit card, but she was still in possession of the card. She told police she was unsure how the card number was being used to make purchases, Montgomery County detectives said Wednesday.

Police discovered the credit card had been cloned — a form of credit card fraud — and used at the Safeway on Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda. Security cameras captured images of the man who used the cloned card.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect is asked to call police at 240-773-6726.
