New OFF 5th store opens in downtown D.C. this week

WASHINGTON — Downtown D.C. workers can now fit in a little outlet shopping during their lunch hour.

Saks Fifth Avenue opens its latest Washington area OFF 5th store at 555 12th Street NW on Thursday.

The two-level, 33,000-square-foot store is in the historic Thurman Arnold Building and sits right next door to the newly-opened Nordstrom Rack outlet store.

It’s the first OFF 5th location in the District, and it joins a mix of nearby retail, including Macy’s, H&M, Zara and T.J. Maxx.

Just last week, Saks opened an OFF 5th store at Springfield Town Center and in August opened a store at Fair Lakes Center.

Saks has other OFF 5th stores in Tysons Corner, Leesburg, Chevy Chase and Potomac Mills.

Nordstrom now has 13 Rack locations in the Washington and Baltimore areas. The first Nordstrom Rack in the country opened at Potomac Mills in 1990.
