Home Depot hiring 2,000 in Washington

WASHINGTON — Home Depot’s busy spring season is around the corner, and the home improvement chain is increasing hiring ahead of it.

The Atlanta-based retailer says it will hire more than 80,000 seasonal employees at its 2,000 stores nationwide, including 2,000 springtime hires for its 45 stores in the Washington metro area.

Home Depot encourages college students, veterans and retirees to apply for the seasonal jobs, many of which can turn into permanent employment.

Openings include sales, operations and cashier positions at retail stores and positions at distribution and fulfillment centers.

More than 70 percent of current store managers started as hourly employees, and more than half of its seasonal hires last year became permanent employees.

You can apply for the Home Depot openings in the Washington region online.
