ANNAPOLIS, Md. — More than 20,000 runners participated in the third annual Across the Bay 10K Sunday, including Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan.

The race, designed to highlight the natural beauty of Maryland, started on the Anne Arundel County side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Runners crossed the bridge, to an incredible view of the Chesapeake Bay, to finish on the Queen Anne’s County side of the bridge.

Many charities benefited from the event, including Gov. Hogan’s Hoganstrong, which goes to lymphoma research.

Drivers heading to or from the Eastern Shore Sunday may have experienced a number of delays as a result of the run.
