The first full week of May begins gray and humid. Expect areas of patchy fog during Monday’s morning commute. The bulk of the morning and afternoon will be dry, with areas of rain and a few thunderstorms developing in evening. Plan for a cloudy and rainy, night with mild temperatures in the 60s.
Expect a little sunshine by Tuesday afternoon, with continued high humidity and highs around 80. There’s a chance for showers and storms to develop Tuesday night, especially in the Shenandoah Valley. These areas could see one or two stronger storms, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
The middle of the week will be the hottest, as highs near 90. There’s a chance for an early Wednesday morning shower, as a cold front slides through, but then skies will clear and humidity levels will fall.
Another round of showers and storms is likely during the second half of Thursday. This weather system will increase winds and bring a drop in humidity for Friday and the weekend.
