Former VP launches ‘Biden’s Briefing’ podcast

WASHINGTON — Ever want to know what’s on former Vice President Joe Biden’s mind?

Biden announced this week he’s launching a news podcast called “Biden’s Briefing,” that features his selections of news articles, essays and posts that have “made an impression” on him.

The podcast — available on iTunes, Spotify and through Amazon’s digital assistant, Alexa — is a joint venture with a new startup Ground Control, according to CNNMoney.

Each of the episodes runs anywhere from about 5 minutes to 15 minutes long.

“Biden’s Briefing isn’t just a collection of stories I’ve enjoyed,” Biden said in an introduction to a recent episode. “It’s part of a much bigger conversation. The world is changing quickly. Now, more than ever we need to broaden our perspective, to be better informed … Biden’s Briefings will include a range of thoughts and opinions, some of which I agree with and some which I don’t. But all of which I think are worth spending some time thinking about.”

Recent episodes have featured stories on the gender gap in the tech industry, climate change, Hurricane Harvey and the Republican health care proposal.
