Wife of D.C. attorney found dead in hotel asks for help

WASHINGTON (AP) — The wife of an attorney found stabbed to death in an upscale District of Columbia hotel is asking for the public’s help.

Kim Vuong said at a news conference Wednesday that when her husband was found dead at the Donovan hotel, “the world lost a good person,” and she “lost everything.”

Thirty-year-old David Messerschmitt was found stabbed multiple times inside a room at the boutique hotel Feb. 12.

The Metropolitan Police Department now says a person of interest in the case shown in surveillance video is a woman, and that they’re looking for her.

Vuong says her husband was the gentlest and kindest person she knew, and a brilliant lawyer deeply dedicated to family. She asks that anyone with information about her husband’s killing call police.
