Police seek suspects in 3 Arlington tire, rim thefts

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for the suspects involved in a series of tire and rim thefts in Arlington this month.

On the morning of Sept. 8, two vehicles were found in separate areas on concrete blocks with all four tires and rims removed. One vehicle was in the 1600 block of S. Joyce Street around 7:15 a.m. Just 15 minutes later, police found another vehicle on concrete blocks with all four tires and rims removed in the 1300 block of Army Navy Drive.

Police said the suspect in the first incident is described as a male wearing a hooded jacket, pants and gloves. The second suspect is described as a medium- to dark-skinned male with a beard and skull cap.

On Sept. 20, a similar theft took place in the 900 block of S. 15th Street. Around 3 a.m., police responded to the area where a car was left on plastic crates with all four tires and rims removed.

The suspect in the Sept. 20 incident entered a parking garage, repositioned the security camera and broke the passenger window to get into the vehicle. Police did not have suspect description information for the case.

Anyone with information about the cases can call Arlington police at 703-228-4159.
