1 killed in Alexandria crash

WASHINGTON — One person died in a crash at the intersection of Duke Street and North Quaker Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, Monday night.

Around 10:45 p.m., a 79-year-old Fairfax man ran a red light and crashed into a vehicle in the intersection of Duke Street and North Quaker Lane. The 79-year-old died at the scene of the crash, Alexandria police said Tuesday afternoon.

The two occupants of the other vehicle were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash blocked all lanes of Duke Street until just after 4 a.m.

The crash is under investigation.
