Trail Advocate Not Happy With Capital Crescent Design Change – Wayne Phyillaier, a Capital Crescent Trail advocate, says Montgomery County is changing the design for a long agreed upon trail crossing of Jones Mill Road in Chevy Chase. Phyillaier claims that “for years it has been planned and agreed” that the future CCT would be built with an underpass crossing of the road. That design is in the state’s Request for Proposals for Purple Line concessionaires. But now, Phyillaier says the county’s Department of Transportation is pushing a street-level crossing with little public notice or involvement. [Silver Spring Trails]
Frosh, Brown Win Police Endorsement – District 16 State Sen. Brian Frosh got an endorsement from the Maryland State Fraternal Order of Police Lodge on Wednesday in his run for attorney general. FOP leaders lauded Frosh’s “lengthy track record advocating for stronger workplace protections and expanded resources for law enforcement professionals.” Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, the Democratic nominee for governor, also got the FOP endorsement. It was the first time in 12 years the state police organization endorsed the Democratic gubernatorial candidate.

Interior Design Firm To Open Retail Operation – SR/A Interior Architecture + Design (7020 Wisconsin Ave.) is opening up its 5,000-square-foot showroom to the public. The firm designs the interiors of area residential and office buildings and moved to Bethesda/Chevy Chase earlier this year.
