Outlook Doesn’t Look Good For School Construction Bill — Montgomery County’s push for more school construction funding from Annapolis will likely have to wait at least until next legislative session. Key Montgomery County political leaders are saying they aren’t expecting a proposal to pass. County Executive Isiah Leggett said the refusal of legislators from elsewhere in the state to buy in is probably due to election-year politics. Montgomery County Delegation leader Del. Details On MCPS Spring Testing Program — MCPS wants out of the annual Maryland School Assessments for its elementary and middle schoolers. The school system says this year will be the last students take the MSA in reading and math, though a random sample of students in every school will take part in a trial run of the school system’s preferred test, developed by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). B-CC Boosters Holding Evening Fundraiser — The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High Schools Educational Foundation is holding its 8th annual evening fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 13. The event, which will include wine, chocolate, cheese and heavy hors d’oeuvres, will take place at the Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase (7913 Connecticut Ave.). ‘Golden Tickets’ At Davis Library — Starting March 4, there will be 10 golden tickets hidden inside 10 different books in the young-adult fiction section at Davis Library (6400 Democracy Blvd.).
