Grape-flavored liquid Tylenol recalled

Friday - 2/17/2012, 10:57am  ET

Johnson & Johnson is voluntarily recalling about 574,000 bottles of its grape-flavored liquid infant Tylenol after parents complained about problems with the dosing system, reports Reuters.

The product being recalled is Infants' TYLENOL Oral Suspension in the 1 oz. bottle.

The Infants' TYLENOLŪ SimpleMeasure dosing system includes a dosing syringe, which a parent inserts into a protective cover to measure the proper dose.

In some cases the protective cover, or flow restrictor, gets pushed into the bottle when inserting the syringe.

No adverse effects have been reported.

Consumers can continue to use the product, provided the flow restrictor at the top of the bottle remains in place.

If the restrictor is pushed in, don't use the product. You can request a refund and find out more details about the recall by going to Tylenol's website.
