Smashing an egg at 16,000 frames per second (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON — Gallagher would be proud.

Ever wonder what the minute details of smashing an egg look like in high definition? Cue Popular Science. The almost 140-year-old volume of all things technical and academic never fails to entertain.

PopSci broke it outs “Phantom super-slow-motion HD camera” for this experiment to capture the high-speed egg salad creation. The device reveals PopPhoto.com editor Stan Horaczek at 16,000 frames per second.

Horaczek previously offered up his body in a demonstration of the effects of a punch to the face.
