WASHINGTON – Kobe, LeBron and Jordan have got nothing on Matt DeMember.
The Maryland youngster reportedly was playing in a church league basketball game when the clock began to wind down. Taking the pass well beyond the arc with his back facing away from the basket, the amateur hoopster tosses the rock backwards and over his head.
What happened next even got attention from ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” which tweeted:
MUST WATCH: Matt Demember plays church league hoops in Maryland. He makes a SERIOUS bid for No. 1 in the #SCtop10. youtu.be/QKam0zfEDHs

Matt’s mom Diane – who tipped us off to the clip – tells us the video was No. 1 on the popular top plays segment of “SportsCenter.” She tells WTOP the game took place Jan. 5 between Redland Baptist Church and Damascus Road Community Church, and that Matt is a freshman at Frederick County’s Linganore High School.
Memo to Linganore High coach: Sign the kid up.
