U2 singer Bono injures arm; “Tonight Show” residency put off

WASHINGTON — If you were hoping to see U2’s week-long residency on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” it looks like you’re going to have to wait.

The band was scheduled to perform every night this week on the show, but have canceled their spots after singer Bono injured his arm bicycling in New York’s Central Park.

“It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time — we’re one man down,” the other three members of the band — The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen — say in a statement on U2’s website.

They say the singer will need surgery on his arm, and add, “we’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”
