Obama takes a turn on ‘Between Two Ferns’ hot seat (Video)

WASHINGTON — Comedian Zach Galifianakis has made a mark with his extraordinarily rude interview series, “Between Two Ferns.” He’s talked with Ben Stiller about people who are “stupid enough to go to your (expletive) movies”; he’s tickled Michael Cera; he’s asked Charlize Theron to go skinny-dipping and spanked Justin Bieber.

On Tuesday, it’s President Obama’s turn.

The “interview” between the president and Galifianakis premiered at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at its usual home, Funny or Die.

Former Clinton administration press secretary Mike McCurry told the New York Times that “we have to worry about the dignity of the presidency,” but added that the new media and entertainment environment “almost mandate new strategies.”

Nicolle Wallace, former communications director for President George W. Bush, said that “You can’t put a president on ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians,'” but added that “there’s nothing we see in the political media that depicts anyone as a well- rounded human being. All of these endeavors are noble and worthwhile.”
