A speciality spin and pilates studio hopes to open in March or April in Bradley Shopping Center.
PureRyde, the Michigan-based company with a studio in Austin, Tex, will be the latest fitness studio coming to downtown Bethesda. Owners Laura Cronberger and Kelle Ilitch say their pitch is part exercise, part camaraderie.
“It’s also about the community created within our studio and the social experience of it all,” Cronberger said.
The pair picked Bethesda as its first DC area location because it’s a place where people seek a healthy lifestyle, Cronberger said. It will be third specialty fitness studio to open in Bethesda in 2014, following Sculpt Studio (Jan. 25) and the Pure Barre moving into the Shoppes of Bethesda.
A spin class, or “ryde” is $22, five classes are $100, 10 are $190 and a month of unlimited sessions are $200.
The studio is remaking the inside of the former Kae Robin gift shop (6910 Arlington Rd.) The store closed up shop in March 2013, one of three longtime, locally-owned shops that closed in Bradley Shopping Center last year.
