Bethesda Topics At The Planning Board Today — The developer of a proposed 14-story, 225-unit apartment 7340 Wisconsin Ave., site of the long shuttered Exxon station, will seek an extension from the Planning Board today to work out public space and sector plan conformance issues. Planning staff recommends the extension and it’s likely the Board will allow it. Also, the Board will hear the latest in the Apex Building/Bethesda Purple Line Station negotiations. Duncan Talks Support For Purple Line — At an event in North Bethesda on Monday, former county executive and candidate Doug Duncan said he has always been in support of the Purple Line. That struck some Purple Line activists, who say Duncan pushed alternate routes and modes for the Purple Line during his three terms in office in order to protect the Columbia Country Club. Duncan said he now supports the preferred Georgetown Branch Trail alignment and that his previous concern was over the Trail. [Washington Post]

Bethesda Artist Gets December Gallery B Exhibition — Gallery B’s December exhibition will feature the work of Bethesda’s Eric Garner, who does sculptures and paintings. The exhibition’s opening reception is set for Friday, Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., coinciding with Bethesda Urban Partnership’s monthly Art Walk. Thanksgiving Dinner Basket Project Surpasses Goal — An annual project to provide Thanksgiving dinner baskets to 75 MCPS families in need hit and surpassed its goal. Eighty MCPS families supported by the Linkages to Learning program will get a Thanksgiving meal and food for the long holiday weekend. Any more donations will be converted into grocery store gift cards to supplement the food baskets. [Town of Chevy Chase]
