Most government offices will be closed Monday for Veterans Day. The county will also mark the day on Monday morning in Woodmont Triangle.
County Executive Isiah Leggett, a Vietnam veteran, will join the Kiwanis Club of Bethesda, Councilmember Roger Berliner, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, military officials and area veterans for a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Park on Norfolk Avenue.
MCPS will have school, though Monday and Tuesday are early release days. County officies and libraries will be closed and parking at county garages, lots and curbside meters will be free.
Ride On, Metrobus and Metrorail will go to weekend schedules and trash and recycling pickup will be pushed back one day for the rest of the week.
